We’re thrilled to share that MoonPay’s Chief Information Officer and Chief Security Officer, Doug Innocenti, has been named one of Cyber Defense Magazine’s Top Global CISOs for 2026!
Now in its 14th year, Cyber Defense Magazine’s awards program evaluates thousands of candidates. Judges recognize leaders for their innovation, communication with boards and senior executives, breach prevention, regulatory expertise, and ability to build effective risk reduction programs.
This recognition reflects Doug’s continued commitment to protecting MoonPay’s customers, partners, and infrastructure.
“Doug brings clarity and sound judgment to some of the most complex decisions we face as a business,” said MoonPay’s founder and CEO, Ivan Soto-Wright. “He’s built a team that makes security a shared responsibility across MoonPay, and this recognition is a well-deserved acknowledgment of that leadership.”
Under Doug’s leadership, MoonPay has earned a broad set of certifications and audits, including SOC 2 Type 2, ISO 27001, ISO 27701, ISO 27018, and PCI DSS 4.0, while maintaining PCI Level 1 compliance, the most stringent of the four PCI levels.
His work has also supported major regulatory milestones including securing our Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) license, New York BitLicense, New York Trust Charter, and, most recently, our Electronic Money Institution (EMI) license from the Dutch Central Bank.
In August, Doug spearheaded the completion of our 2026 SOC 2 Type 2 audit with a clean opinion, confirming that MoonPay’s controls operated effectively throughout the review period. This year’s audit added Privacy to the existing coverage of Security, Availability, and Confidentiality, and brought Virtual Accounts, MoonPay Trade, and MoonPay Commerce into scope. Together, these results strengthen MoonPay’s security and privacy programs as we scale.
Congratulations to Doug and MoonPay’s information technology (IT) and security teams!
