ctUSD MoonPay Onramps and Offramps Are Live

We're excited to announce that Citrea has enabled MoonPay onramps and offramps for ctUSD.

The launch closes a critical gap for the Bitcoin economy. On-chain collateral and off-chain fiat have operated on separate rails for years. Today's integration connects them directly, giving users and institutions a straightforward path between dollars and ctUSD.

Citrea is the first zero-knowledge rollup for Bitcoin, built by Chainway Labs. It extends Bitcoin's security to programmable finance, powering lending markets, vaults, and yield products.

Powered by M0's modular stablecoin infrastructure, MoonPay issues ctUSD as a 1:1 U.S. dollar-denominated stablecoin, fully backed by a U.S. dollar and short-term Treasury bills reserve.

Onramps and offramps are now live in the US (excluding New York, Colorado, and the U.S. Virgin Islands), and over 120 other countries worldwide.

For users, it means fewer steps between dollars and ctUSD. For Citrea, it means a direct channel for off-chain capital to reach its lending markets, vaults, and yield products.

"ctUSD's liquidity has already been actively serving the Bitcoin ecosystem, fueling robust lending markets, vaults, and yields," said Orkun Kilic, CEO of Chainway Labs, core contributor to Citrea. "With MoonPay onramps, the onboarding experience has become entirely frictionless for millions of users. By bringing seamless fiat rails to ctUSD, we are enabling off-chain capital to flow into Bitcoin's ecosystem, unlocking Bitcoin capital markets at scale."

"Bitcoin needs the same fiat connectivity that every other major chain already has," said Ivan Soto-Wright, CEO and co-founder of MoonPay. "ctUSD gives Bitcoin applications a dollar-denominated settlement asset backed by Treasury bills and cash. Our onramps and offramps make that asset reachable from a bank account, not just a wallet. That is the infrastructure Bitcoin's capital markets need to scale."

ctUSD onramps and offramps are live now on MoonPay. Users in eligible regions can start moving between fiat and ctUSD today.
