In our ongoing partnership with Blockchain Creative Labs (BCL), a FOX company, MoonPay’s NFT minting platform HyperMint has provided the infrastructure needed to mint mass quantities of digital collectibles for television’s number one unscripted series, The Masked Singer.
The ninth season of the singing competition premiered earlier this week, and to enhance the viewing experience, BCL teamed up with MoonPay to launch a dynamic voting and token-gated viewing experience titled The Masked Singer Experience.
In the experience, fans use digital collectibles to play along with the show by voting on which singers they would like to see advance in the competition.

Throughout the season, viewers will be able to scan on-air QR codes to claim a free Loyalty Pass and vote on which contestants they feel will advance to the next round. At the time of writing, over 5,000 Loyalty Pass NFTs have been claimed since launch. Fans who purchase the upgraded experience will be awarded points based on the accuracy of the votes they cast. Those holders also have access to token-gated exclusive video content, a points leaderboard, and an online rewards store at maskverse.com.
In December of last year, Blockchain Creative Labs also utilized MoonPay to help launch krapopolis.com, the Web3 community for FOX’s new animated comedy, Krapopolis. From Emmy Award-winner Dan Harmon, the creative genius behind the hit series “Rick and Morty” and “Community,” Krapopolis marks the first network animated comedy to be curated on the blockchain.
The Masked Singer’s ninth season debuted Wednesday at 8:00PM EST. Season eight of the series averaged 7.3 million viewers.
