    Ripple USD now available for purchase

    We’ve got great news for the XRP army: MoonPay is one of the first platforms to offer Ripple USD (RLUSD), the new stablecoin issued by Ripple.* 

    Customers can now buy RLUSD directly via MoonPay using most major payment methods, including debit and credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, and bank transfer.

    What is RLUSD? 

    RLUSD is a stablecoin that is 100% backed by dollar deposits, government bonds, and cash equivalents. Monthly audits (conducted by BPM) will be published online to ensure full transparency of asset reserves.

    Ensuring further oversight and regulation, RLUSD is also one of the few stablecoins issued under a New York Trust Company Charter. Its advisory board will include former FDIC Chair Sheila Bair, former CENTRE Consortium CEO David Puth, and Ripple co-founder and Executive Chairman Chris Larsen, who will help bring RLUSD to market.

    * RLUSD is issued by Ripple subsidiary Standard Custody. The asset is not yet available in Europe, Canada, New York, and the Virgin Islands.
