Shiba Inu launched in August 2020 as a meme coin inspired by Dogecoin. If the logo looks familiar, that’s because the two cryptocurrencies use the same dog breed, the Japanese Shiba Inu, as their mascot.

At just fractions of a cent, $SHIB has experienced a meteoric price increase of more than 60,000,000% since it launched a little over a year ago, going from a meme token to a full DeFi ecosystem. The coin has also soared in popularity thanks to several Elon Musk Twitter interactions with the very active Shiba community.
