We’re excited to announce our new partnership with VALR, Africa’s largest crypto exchange by trading volume, to streamline fiat-to-crypto access for users around the world.

With this integration, VALR users can now buy and sell crypto using a wide range of local payment methods—including credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal—across 34 fiat currencies like the Kenyan Shilling (KES), Indonesian Rupiah (IDR), Turkish Lira (TRY), Brazilian Real (BRL), and Taiwan Dollar (TWD).

This is a major step toward making global crypto access simple, fast, and inclusive—especially in regions where entry points to digital assets have historically been limited.

“We believe the future of money is crypto, and our goal is to make it easy for everyone to participate in this new digital economy,” said Ivan Soto-Wright, co-founder and CEO at MoonPay. “Partnering with VALR to broaden access to stablecoins and other tokens is an exciting step toward our shared mission of global crypto adoption, empowering users in Africa and beyond to hold value on-chain.”

Why this matters

The integration enhances VALR’s mission to build a more open and equitable financial system—one where everyone, no matter their location, can easily access digital assets like Bitcoin and stablecoins.

“This integration empowers our global community with efficient access to cryptocurrencies, aligning with VALR’s vision of building a financial system that reflects the oneness of humanity,” said Farzam Ehsani, Co-Founder and CEO of VALR.

With over 1.3 million users and more than 1,300 institutional clients, VALR continues to expand its presence in emerging markets. This partnership supports their global growth while making it easier for users to access crypto through MoonPay’s seamless payment infrastructure.
