About me

I’m Alex, based in London, and I work for MoonPay’s Strategy & Operations department. Our team is at the intersection of tech innovation, strategic scalability, and robust processes.

My journey began as a corporate lawyer and adviser involved in acquisitions, spin-offs and M&A transactions (from both operational and legal sides). I also helped with global tech implementations, and building out large international teams across the AMER, EMEA, and APAC regions. I’ve always enjoyed being involved in new ideas and initiatives and working closely with start-ups and scale-ups.

Outside of work, I really enjoy traveling and spending time with friends and family. While it’s not always easy to find enough time to visit the most distant and remote locations, we always try to squeeze in a few adventures every year.

What does your typical day look like?

At MoonPay, no two days are alike. The tech industry as a whole moves quickly, especially when the mission is to onboard the world to Web3.

It’s a very fast-paced environment with several changing priorities happening simultaneously. We have regular meetings on a daily basis across the organization with different teams, proactively identifying the opportunities, risks, and challenges to lay out the best strategy forward.

In startups, and especially in such a young industry, you can’t take your foot off the pedal–the default mode is reverse, not neutral.

We also emphasize transparency and honesty, with a focus in building a high performing but really fun team and environment where each team member feels empowered and can thrive.

What do you love about Strategy & Operations?

My team and our mission. Strategy & Ops strives to find solutions by looking at new business models, markets, growth strategies, and products to get involved in.

We are still a very young company but we’re growing rapidly, so we regularly face a lot of challenges and have to be very creative in the solutions we find. Doing that with a small but mighty team is a lot of fun and builds trust. In a way, we are a cornerstone team and our output can directly impact the course we will take as a company.

What do you love about working at MoonPay?

I really enjoy being involved with startups, and I’ve always had an interest in the crypto and blockchain space. So when the opportunity to work at MoonPay presented itself, it felt like a natural choice combining the best of both worlds.

To sweeten the deal, while more and more tech companies are transitioning to be “remote first”, MoonPay was born with the remote-first principle baked into its DNA. This again shows the company’s commitment to innovation and staying ahead of what’s trending.

What’s an exciting challenge you’ll face in your role over the next 6-12 months?

Our mission is huge and the weight of responsibility can be felt. But we never lose sight of the big picture and we focus on one day at a time. That being said, over the next 6-12 months we envision building out departments within the organization to support new business and capitalize on our growth.

What roles are MoonPay hiring for right now?

MoonPay is currently hiring for open roles so be sure to regularly check our careers page. This is a wonderful opportunity to be part of the MoonPay team and create your own unique and exceptional experience!
